This gallery collection is a series of self-portraits honoring Indigenous identity, lineage, and presence.

Each image features the artist wearing a traditional Tlingit cedar woven hat, an object that carries generations of knowledge, protection, and relationship to land. The hat is not presented as adornment, but as inheritance — a living connection between past, present, and future.

Through intentional stillness and direct presence, these self-portraits explore what it means to be seen without translation.
The work reflects on survival, continuity, and the quiet strength of showing up fully as oneself. Cedar, a material deeply rooted in Tlingit culture, becomes both shelter and witness — holding memory while grounding the subject in place and time.

The collection includes three 20×24 inch float-framed fine art prints produced on photo rag baryta paper, chosen for its depth, texture, and ability to preserve subtle tonal detail, alongside one t 30×30 inch float-framed semi-gloss metal print that adds contrast and contemporary weight. Together, the pieces create a cohesive visual narrative that bridges tradition and modern self-representation.

This work is an act of reclamation and self-definition — a declaration that Indigenous identity is not historical, symbolic, or static, but present, evolving, and alive.
